Why Changemakers? Changemakers is a holistic form of life coaching. Facing life with courage and overcoming challenges is not necessarily a mere set of skills, but a deepened awareness of the nature of life and of the self. Change is a part of the human condition and perhaps our greatest challenge is to direct change in a positive way through deepening our self-awareness and learning to unlock and utilize the abundant inner resources that exist within each of us. We are all makers of the course of our life. We have no control over where we are born, our family, or the people and situations we face throughout our life, but we do choose how we react, and this is what shapes our destiny and makes us accountable.
Success is not a destination, it is a journey and how that journey is conducted. Before a therapist can help someone to gain a deepened awareness of his self, and develop his true potential, it is vital that he discovers his own. Developing awareness and approaching life with a positive and proactive attitude is an ongoing challenge that the therapist must be fully engaged in. This is necessary if he is to relate with the client and genuinely engage in his struggles.
Changemakers sees that life is made up of phases and challenges and that depending on the individual’s response, life’s complexities can actually help the person to grow and develop. Ironically, very often people who have undergone some of the most horrendous traumas and difficulties emerge with greater empathy, compassion and awareness – the marks of true success. Doing so is not necessarily a natural skill, so Changemakers seeks to develop people who care to help others cope with their life, to guide those who are experiencing hardship to the skills and understanding that will enable them to face life with courage and compassion.
This is a distance learning course that includes coursework which must be completed for every unit along with a final written exam.
